How many windfarms does it take to power a light bulb?

Dougal Quixote strikes again.

 Dougal Quixote describes himself as "Slightly mad. Always believes a cup is half full so continues to tilt at Wind Turbines and the politicians that seem to believe it is their god given right to ruin Scotland for a pot of fool's gold".

The truth about wind farms.

An MP that actually tells it straight is very rare indeed, in a world where power and profit seem to be the only things that count, and bol***ks to our wild places. I don't know what his other views are, but Sammy Wilson from Northern Island would get my vote on renewables!

Save Monadhliath Mountains

The Monadhliath Mountains are a wild and wonderful place, not protected by national park status, they are currently being desecrated by the construction of dozens of wind turbines. You can help save what’s left of this once road free wilderness by signing the Save the Monadliath Mountains petition here. Wake for the Wild update.

Unfortunately due to family circumstances, I was unable to make the 800 mile round trip to attend the Wake for the Wild protest. Click here to read Chris Townsend report on the event.

He refers to the "Wake for the Wild" notices posted by the Dumnglass Estate, which asked protesters "not to disturb nesting birds and to avoid damage to the ground".

Wind farms you either love them or hate them, but do you know the facts about their cost, generating output and efficiency? I don’t, but I’ve come across a guy who does. Whilst not immune to colourful rhetoric, Alan Sloman the well known walker and blogger, is doing a brilliant job collecting together the real facts about wind farms.
